January has been bananas. Between busyness and getting sick I literally have no time to blink lol and my poor apartment is suffering. My schedule has completely changed and so have my plans, which is also quite interesting.
As of recently I just started working with an artist. She's a very successful painter and I've been assisting her for a few weeks now. The connection was very random but it's flowing quite nicely. However, my schedule has my internal battery on 10% most of the week. I get up quite early to get to her house at 7am and by 9:15 am i'm on my way to my full-time job. But I am starting to enjoy the sunrises.
Even the view to her house is beautiful. She lives north of me and it's more quiet, calm and serene. I get to just chill and watch the early morning fog roll away. It's something I'm getting used to.
These days I really enjoy setting the scene. I love love love natural lighting, tight focused shots on details and shadows.
I guess this is all a part of 'story telling' but I love certain movies where they switch to the next scene and they give you tiny details of the environment. Details on the dressers and tables, lighting, weather outside and sounds to prepare you for the scene. I feel they are so important. Picking up what's in the environment. So that's what I did at "the painter's" house.
There's such a sense of peace in her home. Especially while she's working so I took some free time that I had (which is rare) and started painting a little bit. Just for therapy. and it was so calming. I realized I have to be so intentional about free time.
i just came up on some back drops thanks to Sue Bryce.
Anyway...enough about me. Leave a comment about how your January's been so far.
In the meantime...here are some sounds for the week =)
